Testimonials

My daughter benefited so much from this class, and I think it is part of the reason she is excelling in her high school AP Global class and her college credit sociology class. Their teacher didn't just give them facts, but a method of critical thinking about current and historical events

The curriculum offered at ANUאנו is created by its founder, Tamy Ben-Tor.

Tamy received her MFA from Columbia University in 2006.

Born in Jerusalem, Tamy moved to NYC in 2004 and has been teaching in conservative, reform and secular Hebrew schools in Brooklyn since 2013.

Between 2013-2022 she built and led the 6th grade Holocaust studies curriculum at Kane Street Synagogue.

During that time she co created and taught the Israeli Film Club curriculum to the "Bogrim" high school class at KSS .

She has been teaching at Fig Tree Jewish Education since 2014, where she is currently a lead teacher for PreK-6th graders in Jewish culture, Jewish History and Hebrew language.

For the past 11 years she has been creating diverse curriculums for private group sessions in themes such as Holocaust, History of Israel and Jewish Cultural Studies.

She is a lead Hebrew teacher and Hebrew curriculum advisor at Fig Tree Jewish Education.

“I believe children should learn History in depth, through firsthand historical documents, not superficially through slogans.

The classroom should offer diversity of opinions . It is where kids think out loud and they should not be judged for it. ”
